Miller, Adam S.
DALTON Adam S. Miller, 85, of Dalton (formerly of Benton and Berlin, Holmes County) went home to be with his Lord on Friday, Nov. 8, 2019, following a brief illness.
He was born on Oct. 11, 1934 in Holmes County, OH to the late Samuel J.B. and Katie (Yoder) Miller. On Jan. 11, 1963, he married Anna Miller, also of Holmes County. She survives.
Adam was self-employed for many years as a farmer, truck driver and taxi driver. He stayed active as long as he could, and in semi-retirement worked part time for Walnut Creek Cheese. In later years he was happy doing small tasks around the home, and still taking the occasional call for taxi work. Adam enjoyed visiting with people, and rarely met a stranger. He was a long-time member of Faith Haven Mennonite Church near Mt. Hope and enjoyed discussing Scripture and sharing his love for the Lord. Time spent with his children and grandchildren, whom he greatly loved, was the highlight of his later years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Gloria (Glenn) Yoder of Millersburg, Luke (Jan) Miller of Dalton and Tim (Leann) Miller of Baltic; 13 grandchildren, Alicia, Janelle, Javan, Amanda, Kendall, Kari, Landon, Mya, Brevon, Sabrina, Taylor, Tiffani and Chloe; a great grandchild (Kingsley); and 5 sisters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 infant daughters and 4 brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Faith Haven Mennonite Church, 8565 TR 635, Fredericksburg, OH (near Mt. Hope) with Pastor Jeff Geiser officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton.
