Rogers, Karl C.

ORRVILLE — Karl C. Rogers, age 62, of Orrville, died Sunday, December 1, 2019, surrounded by his family, at Summa Akron City Hospital in Akron, following injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Karl was born on March 22, 1957, in Fort Ord, California, to the late Karl and Dorothy (DuVal) Rogers, graduated from Darlington High School, and served in the United States Marine Corps for over 22 years, including overseas duty in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.  He married June Donaldson on May 24, 1980, in Akron. June survives.

After his military career, he worked as a Truck Driver and Dispatcher for Mast Trucking in Millersburg for the last 13 years.

Karl was a member of the Orrville American Legion and the Orrville VFW.  He enjoyed playing computer games, NASCAR, target shooting, and spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife, June, are two sons, Karl J. Rogers of Willard and Michael R. (Katelyn) Rogers of North Lawrence; daughter, Lindsay (Eric) Gravius of Seville; grandchildren, Patrick, Brice, and Jarrett Rogers; and seven siblings, Stuart Rogers of Broadhead, WI, Bernadette (Tim) Hartman of Cassville, WI, Jacalyn (Mark) Bartosik of Browntown, WI, Heidi Hume of Monroe, WI, Kelly (Jon) Olson of Monroe, WI, Thad Rogers of Ft. Myers, FL, and Robyn (Bryan) Schramer of Shullsburg, WI.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Tamara Metcalf; a brother-in-law; and two nephews.

Friends may call on Sunday, December 8, 2019, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, at Auble Funeral Home, with Deacon Tim Corle officiating. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, where military rites will be observed.
