Enoch A. “Arnold” George

DALTON – Enoch A. “Arnold” George, age 70, passed away on December 23, 2019.

Born on December 21, 1949 in Norton, WV to the late Hobert and Ethel (Pingley) George, he was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict serving with the U.S. Army and was a resident of Dalton since 1987.  Enoch worked for Orrville Products for 37 years until their closing in 2003 and then worked for Rayco Manufacturing until he retired in 2011.  He was a member of the Orrville American Legion Post #282, and past member and Quartermaster of the Dalton VFW Post # 5534.  A lover of the outdoors, he was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed NASCAR and running his 1967 Chevy Nova at Dragway 42.

Preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Travise; infant brothers, Ronald, and Roger; brother-in-law, Kenny Carder, he is survived by his wife of 32 years, Donna; children, Donna (Clint) Steiner of Smithville, Charlotte (Jeff) Slykhuis of Wooster, Neil (April) George of Smithville, Lisa (Dale) Jones of Orrville; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and one on the way; siblings, Barbara Carder of Jimtown, WV, Hensley “Butch” (Isabel) George of Wooster, OH, Edie (Frank) Fortney of Gilman, WV, Loretta (Tom) Schartiger of Guysville, OH, Arlene (Phillip) Bowers of Tampa, FL, Ruth (Jeff) Poling of Callahan, FL, Jenny (Craig) Newsome of Belington, WV, Susan Jenkins; special friend, Patricia Bennett both of Norton, WV; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Funeral service will be Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 12 p.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 29 E. Main St, Dalton, OH, 44618 with Pastor Sally Fusek, officiating.  Burial with military honors will take place at Dalton Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service.  Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
