Obit – Fath, Ann Mahree (Hostetler)

DALTON — Ann Mahree (Hostetler) Fath, 89, of Dalton, died peacefully Monday, January 13, 2020, at the Apostolic Christian Home in Rittman, following a period of declining health.

She was born in Orrville, OH, November 23, 1930, to Emerson and Luella (Lehman) Hostetler, the second of seven energetic children. On October 26, 1951, she married Albert Fath in North Lawrence, Ohio.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband Albert, her parents and her brother David (Rose) Hostetler of Scottdale, PA.

She is survived by her three sons Alan T. Fath of Dalton OH, Steven (Deborah) Fath, Goshen, IN and Randal (Junko) Fath, Dalton OH, and four grandchildren and three great grandchildren and her foster son Mose (Judy) Byler, Greenville SC. In addition she is survived by her brothers John (Ann) Hostetler, Dayton, TN, Ron (Anna Mae) Hostetler, Orrville OH, Jeptha (Joyce) Hostetler, Goshen IN, Dan (Sue) Hostetler, Dalton OH, and her sister Jayne (Robert) Coffy, Wooster, OH. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Edna (Fath) Wengerd, Kidron OH, Pearl (Fath) Basinger, Sarasota FL and brother-in-law Richard (Doris) Fath, Kidron OH. She is also remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Dalton High School, she also attended Hesston College (KS) for one year. During their first year marriage Ann Mahree and Albert served as volunteers at the Maple Lawn Homes in Eureka Illinois. After service they returned to Ohio to begin a residential construction business. In addition to raising three children they provided care and support to more than 30 foster children. Ann will long be remembered for boundless energy, warm hospitality, non-stop buffet meals, and open doors to all.

After a long career in construction and home decoration, Al and Ann semi-retired to give more volunteer time to YWAM Mission Builders where they traveled to work assignments in Japan, Sweden, Switzerland and at their favorite site, the Youth With a Mission training center in Kona, Hawaii.

Family and friends will be received January 25, 2020, from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. at The Living Water Church 200 N Kurzen Rd., Dalton, OH with a memorial service following at 11 o’clock.
