Dalton High School’s cheerleaders have qualified to compete in the OASSA state competition March 1 at St. John’s Arena in Columbus.
Eleven cheerleaders competed in Division 6 at the OASSA Regional Qualifier Saturday to qualify.
“Prior to the Regional Competition I kept telling the girls, go out and make yourselves proud,” said Briana Gallagher, who coaches the team with Amanda Novak. “Do this for you and for each other. The big word thrown around was trust. Trust in your coaches that we have prepared you. Trust in your teammates that they will do their part and give everything they have. And trust in yourself. Trust that you will hit your motions, land your tumbling passes and give all you have.”
The team competes next at 11:40 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 16 at Ashland University.
