Workshop March 10 at Dalton Branch

DALTON  Graphic designer and artist Samantha (Grim) Masters, featured winter artist at the Dalton Library, will lead a March 10 workshop at the library to share her love of creating hand-lettered home decor.

Masters, a Dalton native, is brand coordinator at Jarrett Logistics Systems in Orrville. After hours she designs hand-lettered stationery and custom event signage. She also creates handmade decor that she sells through her online business, Words Like Honey.

Sponsored by Friends of the Dalton Library, Masters will guide each participant in creating a 12×12 wood sign with floral wreath, ready to hang at home. All materials for the hand-lettered signs will be included in the workshop registration cost of $30 for adults and $20 for children ages 8 and up. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult. A portion of the proceeds from each registration will benefit the Dalton Friends of the Library group for special library projects.

The workshop will be 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10 at the Dalton Library, 127 S. Church St. The event offers a unique opportunity for adults and children to complete a creative activity together. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.

To register, visit www.wordslikehoneyco.com/events.

Registration forms also are available at the Dalton Library circulation desk. Forms must be mailed with payment to Dalton FOL at PO Box 105, Dalton, OH 44618. Questions should be directed to FOL President Melody Snure by calling 330-985-0077.  Postmark deadline for forms sent by mail is Wednesday, March 4.

Masters is the fifth person in the continuing series of quarterly artists showcased in the adult reading room at the Dalton Library. A project of Dalton Friends of the Library, the series features present and past Dalton-Kidron community members who create art of all types. Masters’ work will remain on display at the library through Friday, March 27.
