DGKN staff report
Bulldogs varsity wrestling team finished fifth at the sectional tournament. Five wrestlers will be heading to the district tournament and there is one alternate.
“I feel that this was a pretty solid finish for our team considering we only entered eight of the 14 weight classes,” said Head Coach Kenton Lemon. “I am very pleased with how we wrestled over the weekend.  I thought we wrestled well, and I think we have a great mindset right now. I’m excited to see what we can do at the next level. We are going to have to have a great week of practice this week in order to achieve our goals, but our team has risen to the occasion every week thus far and I expect nothing less this week. I am extremely proud of our team and while there are some guys that have reached the end of their season, I think that everyone got better this year. Those of our guys that are still wrestling, they have some things left to prove and accomplish. I think that we have some really good draws at the district tournament and we talk about it every year: At the district tournament, anything can happen. We have to go into the tournament healthy and ready to wrestle.  There are no “easy” matches from here on out and I am confident that our guys are ready for that.”
