Dalton cheerleaders place 6th at state

They only had 2 minutes and 30 seconds to impress the judges and Dalton’s cheerleaders did just that. Dalton’s cheer team  represented their school well Sunday at the Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators state competition in Columbus.

The squad of 11 students ranging from freshmen to seniors placed sixth in the state. There were eight teams in the division.
Briana Gallagher, cheerleading coach with Amanda Novak, said the team “gave it everything they had” when they stepped out on the mat just before 6:30 p.m. Sunday at St. John’s Arena.
“The girls had their best performance to date,” Gallagher said. “They scored the highest they have all season and were less than a point away from fifth place and less than two away from fourth place.”
