Troyer, Reuben J.

Reuben J. Troyer, 76, of Kidron, died peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2020.

Reuben is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Christal (Mark Woods, Mt. Eaton), Michael (Rebecca Troyer, North Canton) and Jeremy (Kara Troyer, Millersburg); grandchildren, Brady, Dylan and Cole Woods, Henry and Suzana Troyer, and Adeline and Micah Troyer; and siblings, Clara (Fredericksburg), Anna (Mose Yoder, Millersburg), Obed (Holmesville), Lydia Ann (Fredericksburg), Fannie (Albert Miller, Fredericksburg), Raymond (Nancy Troyer, Millersburg); and sisters-in-law, Anna and Marcia Troyer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Katie and Effie; brothers, William and Daniel; and sisters-in-law, Elva and Verna Troyer.
Reuben was born near Mt. Hope on November 24, 1943 to Joas and Mary Troyer and married Betty Miller in 1976. He worked for Winesburg Hardwood for 45 years and was an accomplished fisherman and loved golf. He was quick with a joke and a smile and taught his family to love Jesus and to remember to laugh. He was an active and dedicated member of Berlin Mennonite Church.
Calling hours are scheduled for Thursday, March 5, 2020 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Berlin Mennonite Church. A funeral with reception to follow is scheduled for Friday, March 6, 2020 at 11:00am at Berlin Mennonite Church. A family graveside service will precede the funeral. Pastors Jeff Hochstetler and Ernie Hershberger will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Reuben’s life.  Spidell Funeral Home in Mt. The family would like to thank the Extended Family for their support, the Berlin Mennonite Church family for the prayers and food, friends and neighbors for visiting and the staff of LifeCare Hospice who were so helpful for the short time they were needed.
