Lady Dawgs’ season ends in regional semi

Dalton High School’s varsity girls basketball team battled throughout its entire game against Cornerstone Christian Academy in the Division IV regional semifinal March 5. But the Lady Dawgs could not overcome the Patriots’ lead late in the game and fell 33-29.
Dalton’s head coach Katie Miller noted how her team understood the challenge they were facing with the Patriots.
“We knew entering Thursday it was going to be a battle,” she said. “CCA is a very good basketball team; however, a beatable team. Not getting the win for a chance to play Saturday for a Final Four spot is tough, but we thought our kids played their hearts out, and at the end of the day, sometimes things just don’t work out as hoped.”
