DGKN staff report
DALTON Because of the coronavirus crisis and mandatory state closings, the Dalton Community Historical Society has decided to close its doors for all scheduled activities until May 1, 2020 when it will reassess its decision, according to President Vickie Menges.
“We are sorry for any inconvenience, but feel it necessary to take these steps to do all we can to aid our members,” Menges wrote in an email.
The historical society had its meeting March 10 with 10 members present. The meeting was brief and the main topic was the annual Strawberry Festival, according to an email from Menges. Because of many difficulties in putting on the festival, along with the coronavirus threat, the festival is still debatable, she wrote.
