Macrino, Vincent John

Orrville — Vincent John Macrino, age 85, of Orrville, died Thursday, March 19, 2020, at Brookdale Senior Living in Wooster, following a period of declining health.

Vince was born on October 2, 1934, in Orrville, to the late James and Catherine (Varacalli) Macrino and graduated from Orrville High School in 1952.  He married Carol E. Wolgamot on December 2, 1954, in Orrville. Carol died on July 27, 2014.

He worked as a truck driver, last working for The J.M. Smucker Company for 20 years, retiring in 1995, to care for his wife.

Vince was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Orrville Historical Society, Orrville VFW, Member of the Teamster Union, and Wayne County Genealogical Society.  He proudly served in the Marine Corps. He enjoyed history, watching Westerns on TV, and enjoying his family.  He especially loved supporting his grandchildren and great grandchildren in their sports and events.

Surviving are five children, Derice A. “Derri” (Ron) Tucker of Smithville, Deb (Joe) Maurer of Orrville, Mary (Kirk “Spanky”) Rinehart of Orrville, Robert (Kay) Macrino of Wooster, and Lisa (Brian) Kauf of Orrville; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Carol, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Macrino; and a sister, Marianna L. Macrino.

A visitation and memorial Mass will be held at a later date with burial of ashes at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
