Meyer, Gloria “Fay”
SMITHVILLE — Gloria “Fay” Meyer, age 84, of Smithville, died Sunday, May 3, 2020, at the Wayne County Care Center in Wooster, following a period of declining health.
Fay was born on November 17, 1935, in Orrville, to the late Charles and Grace (Bowers) Mann and graduated from Apple Creek High School.
She retired after 24 years as a Secretary and Training Coordinator for Adult Education and Fire and EMS training at the Wayne County Schools Career Center.
Fay was a member of 4-H and Wayne County Rural Youth.
She enjoyed square dancing and being a Scout leader.
Surviving are three sons, Patrick (Krystine) Meyer of Dayton, Tom (Kathy) Meyer of Wooster, and Jim Meyer of Loudonville; three grandchildren, Joseph (Emily) Meyer of Worthington, Carrie Meyer of Wooster, and Caitlin Meyer of Wooster; 4 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law Theola (Dolly) Mann.
She was preceded in death by brothers, George and Harold Mann.
Private family services will be held at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville followed by interment at Moreland Cemetery. A Memorial Celebration of Fay’s life will be held at a later date.
