Edgar, Phyllis Esther

Wooster — Phyllis Esther Edgar, age 83, formerly of Wooster, died Sunday, May 10, 2020, at Riverside Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Newcomerstown, following a period of declining health.

Phyllis was born on July 11, 1936, in Preston County, West Virginia, to the late Oscar and Anna (Peterson) Lee and married Daniel M. Edgar on July 8, 1956, in Deep Creek Lake, MD.  Dan died on March 11, 2005.

She graduated from Southern High School in Garrett County, MD, where she was recognized for her gifted musical talent.  She worked at many different jobs throughout her lifetime and was known for her ability to outwork people half her age, her love for the outdoors, her sassy attitude and desire to help anyone who needed it.

Phyllis attended Wooster Nazarene Church and enjoyed cooking and blessing others with food.

Surviving are two daughters, Rhonda (Randy) Kitzmiller of Apple Creek and Gina (Jack) Harris of Kimbolton; six grandchildren, Sarah Kitzmiller, Anna (Brenner) Lewis, Ashley Pitz, Ashley Harris, Gator (Adessa) Harris, and Billy Harris (Tiffany); eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, George (Patricia) Lee of GA.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Norma Liston, Marian Bolyard, Sandy Paugh, Leatrice Yost, Joy White and Harry Lee.

Per her wishes, there will be no services and cremation will take place.
