Madeline Zaleski, a senior majoring in Mechanical Engineering, received the John Russell Award in Mechanical Engineering Award, according to a news release.
After transferring to Western Kentucky University in 2017, Zaleski found her home in the mechanical engineering program. She has held internships with GM, Madison-Smith Machine & Tool, and Logan Aluminum, and is now seeking full-time employment; although, further education in engineering is still one of her goals.
Currently, she is the Vice President of the Society of Women’s Engineers, a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, an active member of the West End Church of Christ, and tutors high school students in math. Madeline will graduate with summa cum laude honors.
