APPLE CREEK — Mary L. Vance, age 62, of Apple Creek, formerly of Orrville, died in her husband’s embrace on Thursday, May 14, 2020, at her residence, following a period of declining health.
Mary was born on January 24, 1958, in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, to the late John and Velma (Pearson) Siders, graduated from Orrville High School in 1977 and attended The University of Akron Wayne College. She married Donald L. Vance on March 24, 1978, in Wadsworth. Donald survives.
She worked in the dietary department for Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville for 7 years, retiring in 2017.
Mary loved to cook and made it her occupation, but family was her life and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Don, are her daughter, Patricia (Jesse) Chargualaf of Wooster; son, Kenneth Vance of Navarre; nine grandchildren, Deija Hardnett, Devin Chargualaf, Destin Chargualaf, Chase Chargualaf, Paige Chargualaf , Jason Vann, Jr., and Christopher Vann, all of Wooster, Austin Vance of WV, and Shane Vance of Wooster; six siblings, Ruth (James) Green of Evans, WV, Eugene Siders of New Carlisle, Viola Holmes of Orrville, Roy (Connie) Siders of Bidwell, Sandra Hopton of Orrville, and Tracy Pelfrey of Orrville.
She was preceded in death by her son, Steven H. Vance; and a brother, Roger Siders.

aublefuneralhome/ at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 with Pastor Glen Griffith officiating. Burial will take place at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
