Ohio Senior Farmers’ Market Program applications available

Ohio seniors may be eligible for $50 worth of coupons to use on fresh products at farmers’ markets this growing season. Those in Stark, Summit, and Wayne Counties can apply through Meals on Wheels of Northeast Ohio, a program of VANTAGE Aging, according to a news release.

The Ohio Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program vouchers are designed to help seniors get fresh produce, herbs, and honey as an important part a nutritious diet.

To receive vouchers, individuals must meet age and income guidelines. Seniors must be 60 years or older. Household income eligibly is up to $23,107 for one person, $31,284 for two people, and $39,461 for three people. To receive vouchers through Meals on Wheels of Northeast Ohio, individuals must live in Stark, Summit, or Wayne County.

Vouchers will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis and will not be distributed until July due to COVID-19.

Vouchers can be used at participating farmers’ markets and roadside stands. Look for the senior farmers’ market (SFMNP) poster when shopping.

    Are retirement and social security counted as income to be eligble
