Orrville Salvation Army offers food, financial assistance

The Orrville Salvation Army has continued to operate throughout the COVID-19 pandemic offering food and financial assistance to those living in the Orrville, Dalton, Kidron, North Lawrence and Marshallville communities.

The Salvation Army has not strayed from its mission of “Doing the Most Good” and “assisting those in need and, as much as possible, empowering them to solve their own problems and become productive members of society,” according to a news release from Bethany Fuller, executive director.

As communities continue to overcome these unprecedented times, residents may be facing notable economic obstacles. The community has rallied and responded with funding assistance for its members facing financial hardships, the news release states. As in the past, The Orrville Salvation Army can help with food, utility disconnections, medical transportation, and prescriptions. Additionally, the organization currently has funding for partial rent and mortgage assistance or other emergency needs residents may be facing due to the pandemic.

The Salvation Army is accepting appointments rather than walk-ins to provide necessary safety. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call 330-683-3138. Guidelines for visitors are posted on the door at the building entrance.
