Orrville High grad receives Victor Gerber scholarship
ORRVILLE The Orrville Community Chorus Board of Trustees announces the 2020 recipient of the Victor Gerber Memorial Music Scholarship. This scholarship honors Victor Gerber, former music director for the Dalton Local Schools and the founder and former director of the Orrville Community Chorus, according to information provided.
This year’s recipient is Trevor Walton, a graduate of Orrville High School.
He has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship. Walton’s future plans include pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre at Kent State University.
Proceeds from the Orrville Community Chorus’ annual presentation of “Messiah” by George Frideric Handel fund the scholarship.
The 2020 performance of “Messiah” by the Orrville Community Chorus will be Sunday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. at Central Christian School, at 3970 Kidron Road, Kidron.
