Forrer, Donald Ray

North Lawrence — Donald Ray Forrer, age 88, of North Lawrence, died Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at his residence and surrounded by family.
Don was born on April 20, 1932, in North Lawrence, to the late Ira and Iva (Brillhart) Forrer, graduated from Dalton High School, and married Jeridth L. “Jerri” Hess on October 5, 1956, in Rittman. Jerri died on January 9, 2020.
In addition to working the Forrer Brother’s Farm all his life, he worked as a welder for L.E. Albright Pipeline in Canton and Whistler Plumbing in Massillon.
Don was a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church and the Baughman Grange. He enjoyed farming, working, restoring farm tractors, and following his families sporting events.
Surviving are three children, Jeanne (John) Wasson of North Lawrence, Sharon (Norm) Akers of Massillon, and John D. (Michele) Forrer of North Lawrence; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; twin brother, Gene (Clara) Forrer of North Lawrence; and brother, Carl R. “Slick” Forrer of North Lawrence.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Harry Forrer, Kenny Forrer, Geneva Zimmerman, Ethel Withrow, and Ira Forrer, Jr.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Marshallville, with Pastor Lucas Merritt officiating.
