Hartzler, Marilyn J.

ORRVILLE — Marilyn J. Hartzler, age 84, of Orrville, died Sunday, June 28, 2020, at her granddaughter’s home in Millersburg, following a period of declining health.
Marilyn was born on March 2, 1936, in Orrville, to the late Titus and Florence (Lehman) Zimmerman, graduated from Orrville High School in 1953 and attended nursing school.  She married Wayne L. Hartzler on December 30, 1967, in Orrville. Wayne died on March 14, 2001.
She worked as a several local jobs including hostess for Dravenstott’s Restaurant in Orrville.
Marilyn was a member of Living Water Church where she was involved in small groups and Bible study.  She enjoyed games, crossword puzzles, horseback riding, game shows and cooking.  She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, Jim (Robin) Hartzler of Dalton and Dave (Sheila) Hartzler of Shreve; nine grandchildren, Nick Hilty of Orrville, Jenna (Brad) Frakowski of Millersburg, Maxwell (fiance’ Marquee) Wade of Dalton, Jessyca (fiance’ Darren LeBlanc) Hartzler of Killeen, TX, Kayla (David) Lamson of Clarksville, TN, Roger Hartzler of Shreve, Brittany (Tyler) Payne of Shreve, Kelsey (Josh) Bailey of Ashland, and Nicholas (fiance’ Ashlee Rowe) Jones of Wooster; six great grandchildren including Ivy Lamson; six siblings, Chuck Jones of Orrville, Edward (Elda) Jones of Marshallville, Dawn (Craig) Jones of Ashland, Reha Zimmerman of IN, Joe Zimmerman of Dalton, and Bob Zimmerman of Wooster, OH; and her beloved dog, Bo.
In addition to her husband, Wayne, she was preceded in death by daughter, Suzanne M. Hilty in 2014.
Private family services will be held at Auble Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Hostetler officiating. Burial of ashes will take place at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
