Kidron VFD has 63rd annual Chicken BBQ Aug. 4 — drive-thru pick-up only
DGKN staff report
KIDRON The Kidron Volunteer Fire Department will have its 63rd annual Chicken Barbecue on Tuesday, Aug. 4 — with a few changes because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The fire department will have drive-thru pick-up meals at the Kidron Park starting at 4:30 p.m. until sold out. Meals will include half chicken, chips, apple sauce, roll, and cookie. No additional activities will be at the park this year, such as musical entertainment and the kiddie tractor pull. Also, a drive-thru pick-up for chicken only will be at Central Christian School starting at 3:30 p.m. until sold out. The meals and chicken halves may be purchased by donation and proceeds will benefit the KVFD.
This year, firefighters will be cooking 5,600 chicken halves, according to information provided by Mitch Bowers.
“For the finest in bar-b-que chicken prepared by our firemen, plan now to attend this drive thru pick up event on Tuesday, August 4th,” Bowers wrote.
I would like to know when you have your next Chicken BBQ I love the chicken. I hate that I missed the one on Aug. 4th.😋
