Schrock-Ropp, Carol R.
Carol R. Schrock-Ropp, age 86, of Orrville, died Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster, following a period of declining health.
Carol was born on November 23, 1933, in Louisville, Ohio, to the late Alvin and Gladys (Hostetler) Schloneger and graduated from Louisville High School in 1951. She married Roger V. Schrock on May 5, 1956, in Louisville, OH. Roger died on June 22, 2004.
She worked as an Office Manager for Mennonite Mutual Insurance in Orrville for 22 years, retiring in 1996.
Carol was a member of Smithville Mennonite Church where she shared her gift of music. She enjoyed singing and was a member of the Cantate Singers, a local choir group.
Surviving are two daughters, Kim Mullett of Sarasota, FL, Wendy J. (Mitchell) Mann of Massillon, OH; son, Von (Rita) Schrock of Dalton; six grandchildren, Alyssa (Matthew) Rabatin, Todd Mann, Aubrey (Matthew) Nueunschwander, Corbin Schrock, Logan Schrock, Kaden Schrock; two great grandchildren, Joseph Nueunschwander, Everett Rabatin; brother, Stan Schloneger of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by infant son, Todd Alan Schrock, son-in-law, Ken Mullett, sister, Myrna Piper, and sister, Janet Lehman.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 12 at Smithville Mennonite Church, 6097 Akron Road, Smithville, with Pastor Todd Martin officiating. The service will also be live-streamed on the Auble Funeral Home Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/ aublefuneralhome. Burial will take place at the Smithville Mennonite Cemetery in Smithville. Although the public service is exempt from the current gathering limitations, the risk of virus transmission from one person to another still exists. Visitors are asked to wear masks if possible, practice social distancing, and adhere to the posted signs and spacing limitations.
