Banton, James F.
Orrville, OH — James F. Banton, age 89, of Orrville, died Friday, July 31, 2020, at his home in Orrville, following a period of declining health.
James was born on March 21, 1931, in Durbin, West Virginia, and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He married Annamae Moore on May 5, 1956, in Euclid.
He worked in the core room for Quality Castings for over 30 years, retiring in 1993.
James enjoyed playing golf and he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Annamae Banton of Orrville; two sons, John (Sharon) Banton of North Lawrence, and Gary (Jennifer) Banton of Orrville; three grandchildren, Emma, Jacob and Jason Banton; two great grandchildren, Tiarra and Teegan Banton; and a half-brother, Ricky (Susan) Schmitz of AR.
He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Jackie Ann Banton; great grandson, Tyler Mason Banton; brother, George Banton; half-brother, Charles Arbogast; and half-sister, Joyce Ervin.
Friends may call on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, from Noon to 1:00 pm.
Services will follow at 1:00 pm with John Willis officiating. Entombment will take place at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville, where military rites will be observed.

Although funeral events are exempt from current gathering limitations, the risk of virus transmission from one person to another is much higher at a public event.
