Dalton Holidays Festival Royalty to raise money for Jenson Rescue Throw Ropes
DALTON Holidays Festival Royalty will be at Village Hall downtown 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31 for “Cookies with the Court” to accept donations for Jenson Rescue Throw Ropes available through the East Wayne Fire District.
This mission is close to the hearts of royalty members, according to the Dalton Holidays Festival Royalty Facebook page. In return for donations, the girls will have homemade cookies wrapped and ready to enjoy. “We will be sure to safe and socially distanced and are excited for this opportunity for our wonderful community to come say hi!” an event post on the Facebook page states.
The fire district recently shared an update about the project on its Facebook page. A post thanked people for donations and includes a link to a training page on the EWFD website about how to deploy a Jenson Rescue Throw Rope.
The Jenson Rescue Rope is a lifesaving device and allows a rescuer to pull a victim from the water without the rescuer going into the water, the website states. The Jenson Rescue Throw Rope is in honor of Jenson Hodge who lost his life in an icy pond accident in December of 2019. The program aims to prevent a tragedy like this from ever happening again.
“We originally thought we might receive enough donations for about 15-20, instead, we were pleasantly surprised and blown away by your donations that we were able to make 100 Jenson Rescue Ropes!” the EWFD post states. “Many people helped donate their time to create these, and supply parts and pieces for the kits.”
Fire district members have begun installing ropes and they plan to put out more in the upcoming weeks, according to the Facebook page.
I would like to buy a Jenson rescue rope system for my son’s swimming pool. Do you sell them?
