DALTON VARSITY VOLLEYBALL: Lady Dawgs win in WCAL matchups

Guided by two great performances from senior Tess Denning, Dalton High School’s varsity volleyball team won in WCAL matchups against Hillsdale and Chippewa.

The Lady Dawgs have an overall record of 6-3 and they are 5-0 against WCAL teams.

Dalton hosted Hillsdale Sept. 8 and took a 25-9, 25-18, 25-8 win over the Falcons. Denning had a stand-out night. The outside hitter finished with 16 points, four aces and 13 kills. Fellow senior Adrianne Alger also had a good night. She recorded nine points, three aces, 30 assists and eight digs. Mia Weaver had eight points and four aces. Brennah Arnold ended with 10 kills, while Abbi Snyder had 10 digs.

The Lady Dawgs earned a 25-7, 25-22, 25-19 home win against Chippewa Sept. 10. Denning helped propel her team to victory with 12 points, one ace and 10 kills. Landree Siders had 10 points, one ace and seven digs. Snyder put up nine points with two aces. Arnold collected 12 kills and seven digs. Amelia Knetzer recorded eight kills. Alger had 35 assists. Courtney Nolt led defenders with 10 digs. Weaver had two solo blocks and two assist blocks.
