Yoder, Joyce M.
Joyce M. Yoder, age 89, of Orrville, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.
Joyce was born on August 5, 1931, in Dalton, Ohio, to the late Everet and Mary (Smith) Simon, attended Dalton High School, and married William L. Yoder on March 20, 1951, in Wooster. Bill died on May 21, 2009.
She worked as a Sales Clerk for Lad-N-Lassie in Orrville for 15 years, retiring in 1986.
Joyce was a member of the Ohio Country Music Association, Canton Chapter, and attended Orrville Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing, playing music and having luncheons and coffee with friends. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchild.
Surviving are two daughters, Debbie (Kevin) McDonald of Richmond, IN and Teri (Wayne) Williams of Lexington; a son, Todd (Angie Leone) Yoder of Orrville; seven grandchildren, Jason Haun, Kristin Dixon, Erika (Darren) Shultz, Kayley (Thomas) Boettner, Stephanie (James) Phillips, Cameron Kozlay, Mikenzie Yoder; six great grandchildren, Hunter Dixon, KyLee (Brayden Back) Dixon, Taylor Phillips, J.J. Phillips, Deacon Shultz, and Dane Shultz; and great-great grandchildren Kinsley Back and Kamrynn Back (arriving in December).
She was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
Friends may call on Monday, September 21, 2020, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Services will be held at Noon on Tuesday, at Auble Funeral Home, with Chaplain Darcy Miller officiating. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
The family has chosen to have a public event. Although funeral events are exempt from current gathering limitations, the risk of virus transmission from one person to another is much higher at a public event. Visitors are asked to wear masks, practice social distancing, and adhere to the posted signs and spacing limitations. Seating may be limited.
