OSP seeks help in identifying hit-skip driver
Troopers are asking for the public’s help in identifying a driver involved in a hit-skip crash last week.
The Canton post of the Ohio Highway Patrol with assistance from the Wooster post is seeking information about a crash that happened at about 8:40 p.m. Sept. 29 along U.S. 30 in Tuscarawas Township.
The crash occurred in Stark County and the vehicles were headed westbound into Wayne County.
Two vehicles were traveling westbound on U.S. 30 in the far right lane and the first vehicle was struck by the second vehicle causing it to travel off the right side of the roadway, strike a guard rail and overturn in a wooded area, according to Lt. Steph Norman with the Ohio Highway Patrol. The Wooster woman driving the vehicle that was struck was treated for minor injuries at Aultman Hospital. The vehicle that struck her vehicle fled the scene and is described as a Dodge Ram pickup truck full size and possibly silver in color. The truck had a long truck bed and will have fairly heavy front-end damage but is still driveable. Witnesses weren’t able to keep up with it, Norman said.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Canton patrol post at 330-433-6200. Trooper Sponaugle is handling the crash and the crash report number is 76-1384-76.
