DALTON  Even though the buildings are closed to the public, volunteers are still working at the Dalton Community Historical Society.

Flower beds of the campus have been improved thanks to Dora Lee Huntsberger and Vickie Menges. The two have put in about 22 hours of weeding and cleaning up around the campus. A few trees still need to be removed.

Village employees recently removed overgrown shrubs from the east and west sides of the building and this area will be landscaped later.

To add a “fall touch” to the campus, a mum and pumpkins have been added to the former hotel’s front steps.
