Fisher, Jo A.
Orrville – Jo A. Fisher, 63, of Orrville, formerly of Canton, went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 2, 2020 at her residence following a period of declining health.
She was born September 22, 1957 in Canton to the late Robert and Bonnie (Williams) Hanley and lived most of her life in Canton and Orrville.
Jo attended Canton Lincoln High School and was employed by DLH in Canton, Macy’s Department Store and The Dollar General Store in Orrville for several years. She married Jon Fisher October 6, 2007 and he survives.
She was a devoted Christian and founding member of Crossview Church in Orrville. She was passionate about helping others in need and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Jo also liked to learn and to teach herself new skills which included knitting, crocheting and gardening.
Surviving is her husband of thirteen years, Jon Fisher; daughter, Brandy (Timothy) McClurg of Worthington; sons, Michael (Tamara) Cerrato, II of Canton and Christopher (Angel) Fisher of Akron; grandchildren, Gavin, Samone, Frankie, Owen, Braden, Logan, Maria, Abby (Devin) and Camden; sisters, Sue (Butch) Carosielli of Perry, Peg Hanley of Seville and Jan Hanley of Canton; brother, Bob (Gwen) Hanley of Perry; brother-in-law, Andrew Anderson of Massillon; and special friend whom she considered a grandson, Joseph Picard of Wooster.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Ray Fisher; and sister-in-law, Sue Steppenbacker.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Auble Funeral Home, 512 E. Oak St., Orrville with Pastor John Marino officiating. Burial of ashes will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery Orrville.
Friends may call from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the funeral home.
Although the public visitation and service is exempt from the current gathering limitations, the risk of virus transmission from one person to another still exists. Visitors are asked to wear masks, practice social distancing, and adhere to the posted signs and spacing limitations.
