Navarre woman killed in two-vehicle Wayne County crash

 

WOOSTER  A Navarre woman was killed Tuesday in a crash along Back Orrville Road in Wayne Township.

The Wooster post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on County Road 23 west of Honeytown Road (Township Road 54). The crash occurred at about 10:30 a.m., according to a news release.

A 2018 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Angela K. Patterson, 24, of Navarre, was traveling eastbound on Back Orrville Road and traveled left of center striking head-on a 2019 Chevrolet Volt driven by Dana R. Booth, 68, of Orrville. Booth was traveling westbound on Back Orrville Road. Patterson was pronounced deceased at the scene and was transported by the Wayne County Coroner to Wooster Community Hospital.  Both drivers had their safety belts on at the time of the crash, the news release states.

Booth sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was transported by Central Fire EMS to Wooster Community Hospital.

EMS and rescue personnel from the Central Fire Department, the Ohio State Highway Patrol Reconstruction Unit and Wayne County Coroner responded to the scene. Alcohol is not suspected in the crash.

This is the 11th fatal crash in Wayne County this year, the release states.
