Szafran, Rich

Rich Szafran, 56, of Smithville, passed away Monday, November 9, 2020 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Although Rich was born in Pennsylvania, he made Ohio his home.

Rich was truly a special man who was loved and will be missed by many.  He found it easy to make friends where ever he was, and he never met a stranger.  Rich worked for many years at Main St. Car Wash and Lube Center in Orrville where he greeted each customer with a smile and an enthusiastic “Hi”.  He took the time to get to know each customer and made them feel like family.  His outgoing personality and his love for life touched each person he encountered.  He could make you laugh or gross you out with one of his crazy stories.

Rich loved his cats, especially the orange ones and would not hesitate to show you a picture or ten.  When he was not working, he was eating, especially his own concoctions.  He enjoyed sports but loved his Philadelphia Eagles.  But most of all he loved doing anything and everything with his fiancé Connie, he was her special giant.  Rich is and will always be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Those who wish to make memorial contributions to help his fiancé Connie in this time of need can drop them off with the management team at Main Street Car Wash and Lube Center located at 1325 N. Main St, Orrville, Ohio.
