CCS VARSITY BASKETBALL: Comets grounded in close games

Central Christian School’s varsity boys basketball team ran into tough opponents. The Comets fell to Smithville and Loudonville. They now have an overall record of 2-3.

Smithville grounded the visiting Comets, 54-47, Dec. 15. Kaden Schrock led CCS with 12 points. Tyler Bonner put up 11 points. Caden Granger added nine points. Clay Rohrer, Max Irwin and Thatcher Rohrer all scored four points each. Dakota Kerby contributed three points. CCS lost a close home game to Loudonville, 42-40, on Dec. 18. The Comets were guided by Bonner, who scored 15 points, pulled six rebounds, dished one assist and swiped four steals. Thatcher Rohrer added 11 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Granger scored six points. Clay Rohrer ended with six points, one rebound, two assists and one steal. Kerby finished with two points, one rebound and one assist.

Central’s varsity girls team fell to Triway on Dec. 15. The Lady Comets fought hard against Loudonville on Dec. 18 at home, but they ultimately ended up losing 54-44.
