A twist on tradition: Record 13th year for ‘virtual’ memorial run

Even though the 2020 Rich Dalessandro Memorial Run saw only about half of its average number of participants, the 13th annual charity event made more this year than ever before.

Runners and walkers did not participate together on the same course in Dalton because of the COVID-19 pandemic. But that didn’t slow them down. They racked up miles at home on their own time – even in other states –and raised money to benefit the Northern Ohio chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and a local boy fighting lymphoma. This year, the fall race raised $21,078.
