Seven fire departments respond to garage/barn fire

Seven Stark and Wayne county fire departments and the Stark County Sheriff’s Office responded to a garage/barn fire at 6:50 p.m. Friday in the 14000 block of Kimmens Road SW.
No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
The North Lawrence Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched for a reported structure fire, according to an incident report available on the fire department’s Facebook page. Engine 4, Engine 7, Tanker 3, Medic 2 and Safety 1 (C-Shift) took the assignment, the report states.
On arrival, Safety 1 advised of a structure measuring 30-by-80 feet fully involved and on the ground. Safety 1 declared a defensive attack, exposures on the “D” side were protected.
Mutual aid was provided by the Brewster Fire Department, Orrville Firefighters Association, Massillon Fire Fighters Local 251, Erie Valley Fire & Rescue, East Wayne Fire District, Kidron Fire Department and Stark County Sheriff’s Office.
The NLVFD thanked mutual aid companies and dispatchers at CENCOM for assistance.
