DALTON VILLAGE COUNCIL: Reprieve on 2019 taxes for residents

DALTON  Village residents who have not yet filed their 2019 taxes, will have an opportunity to catch up on their municipal tax payments without penalty if they pay by Feb. 28.

Mayor Dennis Finley said because of the unusual year and with tax filing extensions that were granted this year because of the pandemic, residents may have forgotten to pay their 2019 taxes. Also, reminder letters were not sent out as they have been in previous years. After an audit was conducted, the village discovered about a couple hundred taxpayers had outstanding tax payments due.
