Zimmerman, David Lee “Zip”
Orrville — David Lee “Zip” Zimmerman , age 86, of Orrville, died Friday, January 22, 2021, at Autumnwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rittman, following a period of declining health.
David was born on November 2, 1934, in Orrville, to the late Raymond and Barbara (Ganter) Zimmerman, graduated from Orrville High School in 1953, and served in the United States Army during Korean War, stationed in Alaska.
He was a self-employed Mason, working for several different contractors for many years.
David was a proud member of the NRA. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman.
Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph, Earl, Harold, and John Zimmerman; sister, Ruth Kunkle; and an infant sister, Margaret Zimmerman.
Per David’s wishes, cremation will take place and his ashes will be interred at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
