A parade of first responders from various area agencies gathered Thursday evening to show support for Kidron Volunteer Fire Department firefighter Brian (Rudy) Hofstetter who is fighting for his life at Wooster Hospital.
The Orrville Fire Department gave the family a boost in their ladder truck to see Hofstetter in his hospital room.
According to a post on the KVFD’s Facebook page, which has been shared numerous times asking for prayers: “We here at Kidron Fire are asking for your help. When someone in our community has a problem they call 911 and our volunteers drop what they are doing and respond to whatever the emergency might be. We have become one big family, and always try to help our brothers and sisters when they are in need. We are Firefighters and EMTs we think we can fix anything!!
But this time, we can’t fix it, and are reaching out for YOUR HELP also.
“One of our most dedicated Firefighters is Brian (Rudy) Hofstetter. He keeps us hydrated and fed with many drinks and snacks that he picks up on his days off of work. He is one of the best pump operators we have ever had. When you see a fire engine racing out of town to a fire, chances are, it’s probably Rudy behind the wheel!!! Always willing to help with any task, and does it with a smile. Rudy has been very sick for over a week, and has been in the hospital fighting for his life.
We are asking everyone to please drop what your doing and Pray for Rudy and his family. That he can have the strength to recover and come home and return to good health.”
