Brown, Carol A.
ORRVILLE — Carol A. Brown, age 77, of Orrville, died Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Accord Care Community in Orrville, following a long period of declining health.
Carol was born on June 13, 1943, in Orrville, to the late Robert and Muriel (Miller) Maiwurm, graduated from Orrville High School in 1961, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Ashland College in 1965. She married John R. Brown, on July 22 1967, in Orrville.
She worked as a teacher and then became an original Co-owner with her husband, of Brown’s Furniture in Orrville for 38 years, retiring in 2017.
Carol was a member of Wooster Grace Church. She was tireless in working at the store, enjoyed vacationing with John and spending time with her grandchildren. She was also an avid reader and loved maintaining a beautiful home.
In addition to her husband, John, she is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (Jeffrey) Knauf of Hudson; son, Jarrod (Dawn) Brown of Orrville; grandchildren, Jacob Knauf, Sierra Knauf, Hunter Knauf, Harrison Brown, Allyson Brown and Payton Brown; brother, Terry (Nancy) Maiwurm of Englewood; sister-in-law, Elsie Maiwurm of Marshallville; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her step-mother, Eleanor Maiwurm; brothers David and Roger Maiwurm; and sisters-in-law, Mary Lee Maiwurm, and Jeanette Maiwurm.
Friends may call on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Auble Funeral Home, 512 E. Oak Street, Orrville, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Fetterhoff officiating and will be livestreamed at facebook.com/AubleFuneralHome. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville. Visitors are asked to wear masks, practice social distancing, and adhere to posted signs and spacing limitations. Seating may be limited.
