What do you love about working at Dalton Local Schools?
Dalton is a great district to be a part of because the people are so genuine and kind. Community members, students, and staff all work to support one another, and it’s refreshing to be in a place where everyone truly cares and will offer a helping hand.
How did you get to where you are today (education/ experience/inspiration)?
I actually attended Dalton from kindergarten through graduation, then I went to Kent State University to earn my bachelor’s degree in integrated language arts. The same month I graduated, a teaching position at Dalton became available, so I was fortunate enough to get the job and come right back! This is my 5th year teaching, and I have the privilege of working alongside the teachers who inspired me as a student.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself that people would be surprised to hear.
My husband and I have been in the process of renovating and restoring a 107-year-old house over the past 3 years. We’ve done a total overhaul on the house, and people might be surprised to know I have knocked down several walls myself, and used a miter saw to help install a new front porch this summer!
