Barnhouse, David R.

David R. Barnhouse, age 80 of Perry Twp., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 3, 2021. He was born in Canton on July 28, 1940, to Edward and Helen (Reed) Barnhouse. David was a 1958 Sandy Valley High School graduate, then proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He married the late Jane (Kracker) Barnhouse on May 18, 1963, by Reverend Neal Pergande. David worked for 20 years as a Teamster at Superior Meats and retired from The Spindler Co.

He was an avid reader and history enthusiast. He enjoyed spending time with his family on vacations, sporting events and family gatherings. David never knew a stranger and would always lend a helping hand.  He was easy-going, cheerful, and had a positive outlook. He was unfailingly there for family, friends and coworkers. David selflessly cared for his wife Jane during her illness – he was her rock. He will forever be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

David leaves to cherish his memory children Michael (Erin) Barnhouse, Amy (Scott) Beatty, and Julie (John) Hopple; grandchildren Marlowe (Lucas) Daugherty, Carolyn (Ty) Husted, Meredith Beatty, Camille Beatty, Owen Beatty, Anna Hopple, Mia Hopple, Lane Barnhouse, and great-granddaughter Addison Jane Husted; sister Jane Ellen Barnhouse; brother Donald (Kathy) Barnhouse; sisters and brothers-in-law Carol Clark, John Kracker and James (Nancy) Kracker; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife Jane Elizabeth Barnhouse, nephew Todd Kracker, niece Sandi Westfall, and brother-in-law Larry Clark.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic a private family service will be held. A livestream will be available on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at 11am at www.paquelet.com. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Health Well Foundation (healthwellfoundation.org) – 20440 Century Blvd, Suite 250, Germantown, MD 20874.

We still live in the “old neighborhood” in Waynesburg & I still refer to the neighbors homes as I remember when we were all in our younger years, I may not know the people living in the homes today but to me it’s still the home of the Barnhouse’s. Dave always had a smile & was a great guy. Cherish the memories and he’ll live on forever. God bless all of you.
