Columbus — DeMarkus James Robinson, age 38, of Columbus, formerly of Orrville, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 1, 2021, at his home in Columbus.
DeMarkus was born on November 9, 1982, in Orrville, Ohio, to Peter and Desirae (Fields) Robinson and graduated from Orrville High School in 2001. He obtained his Bachelors Degree form Kent State University and a Master’s Degree from Edinboro Univeristy. He most recently worked as a Area Manager for Bright View Landscaping.
DeMarkus was a three sport athlete at Orrville, a part of the 1998 State Championship Football Team, ran on the 1999 State Track Championship team, and went on to play football at Kent State. He enjoyed helping with youth development and outreach including leadership positions at Boys and Girls Clubs in Orrville, Arizona,Virginia and Columbus. He also helped with a Christmas Gift program and currently ran a program called “Reach One, Teach One” in Columbus.
Surviving are his children, DeNiro Robinson, twin daughters, Danae and DeMiyah Robinson, and Jayden Weaver, all of Columbus; mother, Desirae Robinson of Wooster; three brothers, Dru (Talisha) Robinson of Wooster, Damon Robinson of Massillon, and Hezekiah Robinson of OK; maternal grandmother, Bertha Fields of Columbus; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by father, Peter James Robinson; maternal grandfather, Ellis G. Fields, Sr.; paternal grandmother, Doris Robinson; and nephew, R’Kai Robinson.
Friends may call on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.
Services will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, with Pastor William Craig officiating. Visitors are asked to wear masks, practice social distancing, and adhere to posted signs and spacing limitations. Seating may be limited.
