Smeyres, Zola Marie
Zola Marie Smeyres, 86, of Navarre, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021.
She was born in Navarre on November 10, 1935 to the late George and Zola (Combs) Whitfield and was a life resident of Navarre.
She graduated from Navarre High School and immediately accepted a position at Nickles Bakery where she worked for over 40 years. She married Floyd Smeyres and they had two sons, John and Jerry.
She enjoyed many things with her family including NASCAR and super modified races. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed traveling to many places. She was a faithful member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Navarre and enjoyed participating in the life of the church.
In addition to her sons, John and Jerry, she is survived by a sister, Melva Phillips; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and two siblings.
Let us remember her devotion to her family, her quick wit, ready smile, a thoughtful, loyal and caring lady, a life well lived.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Navarre VFW. Spidell Funeral Home in Brewster is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ in Navarre or the Salvation Army.
