Marshallville — Larry E. Baer, passed away at the age of 80 on March 20, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones as he left this earthly life to enter into his heavenly home.
Larry was born on October 24, 1940, in Marshallville, Raymond and Maude (Wertz) Baer and graduated from Smithville High School in 1958. He married Roberta Rutter on June 20, 1964 in Orrville.
Larry was the owner and operator of L&R Dairy Farm in Marshallville and his legacy will live on through his family.
He was an active member of St. Michael’s United Church of Christ in Marshallville, serving on the church board, Larry also served on the Smith Dairy Board and the Green Local School Board. He loved to watch the Cleveland Browns and dance with his life long partner, Roberta.
Larry is survived by his wife Roberta; daughter, Robyn Baer-Hostetler and her husband, Larry Eggeman, of Marshallville; two sons, Shawn Baer of Wooster and Heath (Lynae) Baer of Marshallville; seven grandchildren, Jessica Baer, Reed (Abby) Hostetler, Wren Hostetler, Wyatt Baer, Aidan Hostetler, Willow Baer, and Lee Hostetler; great-granson, Stefan Baer-Hostetler; two step-grandchildren, Danielle (Jim) Hatton and Lindsey Eggeman; great step-grandchildren, Penelope and Piper Hatton; and his sister, Pearl Berlin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wilmer, Lester, and Russell Baer; and sisters, Helen Brown and Ruth Beech.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, at St. Michael’s United Church of Christ, 22 East Euclid Street, Marshallville, with Pastor Joe Routh officiating. Burial will take place at the St. Michael’s Cemetery in Marshallville.
Friends may call on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm or one hour prior to the service at the church. Visitors are asked to wear masks, practice social distancing, and adhere to posted signs and spacing limitations. Seating may be limited.
