Julie is like having an extra kindergarten teacher in the room. She reminds us of things we need to do and is always willing to help wherever needed.
What do you love about working at Dalton Local Schools?
I love working at Dalton Local Schools because of the caring staff which is committed to seeing all students reach their full potential. Our buildings are filled with wonderful students, too. I love how we begin each day with morning announcements that always end in “…and always be kind.”

How did you get to where you are today (education/ experience/inspiration)?
I am an alumni of Dalton Local Schools and a graduate of Akron University. My husband and kids all graduated from Dalton and I have grandkids currently enrolled in the district. I have been employed 24 years at Dalton Local. I’ve been with Kinder-garten 21 out of the 24 years. I enjoy working with this age. Seeing them come through the door on that first day of school timid, wide eyed, nervous, and then watching them throughout the year as they learn, grow, and excel into confident Kindergarten graduates is a joy of my job.

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself people may be surprised to hear.
To celebrate my 60th birthday I completed a 60 mile trail run at Mohican State Park last October. I love trail running and have completed many races, ultramarathons, and 24 hour events. This was my way of celebrating the big 6-0!
