Sharon Y. Hazel

EAST GREENVILLE – My mission on this earth has been accomplished and God called me home on April 1, 2021 at the age of 82.

I am now rejoined in Heaven with my parents, Lester and Glenna (Wise) Welty, my brother, Phillip Welty, son-in-law, Chad Malone, and my husband, best friend, and love of my life for 48 years, Earl who passed in 2006.

An employee of Doctors Hospital for many years as an LPN, I was a devoted member of the East Greenville United Methodist Church and president of the Women’s Society.  I enjoyed life, playing cards, slot machines, and spending time with my family.

I leave behind my five wonderful children David (Mae) Hazel, Craig (Donna) Hazel, Janelle (Doug) Moffit, Tim Hazel, Angie (Jason) Malone-Baker, my most precious grandchildren, Matthew (Hanna) Hazel, Tasha (Mitchell) Rivera-MacNaughton, Sami (Curtis) Smith, Ben Kandel, Logan Hazel, Miki Hazel, Heath Hazel and beloved great grandchildren, Leighton Kandel, Elise and Adalyn Hazel; sister, Sheryl Davidson; numerous nieces and nephews.

“Do not grieve for me, I lived a full and blessed life and returned to others the love that God gave me.”

My funeral service will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 12 p.m. at the East Greenville United Methodist Church, 14539 Lincoln St. West, North Lawrence, OH, 44666, with Pastor John Finn, officiating.  I will then be placed next to my beloved Earl at Dalton Cemetery.  My family will receive friends on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at the church. You can make memorials on my behalf to the East Greenville United Methodist church.  My obituary and guest registry are available at
