Zimmerer, John A.

John A. Zimmerer, 75, of Wooster died on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

He was born April 24, 1945 in Loudonville to Albert and Clara Hendricks Zimmerer.  On May 12, 1984, he married Kayla Manges.  She survives.

John had worked at the Orlo Auto Parts and at Martin Jewelers.  He was an active member of Central Christian Church, enjoyed bowling, fishing, building model cars and spending time with his family and grandchildren making a train layout for them.

Along with his wife, Kayla, John is survived by his children Mark (Julie) Zimmerer of Wooster, Scott (Mary) Rutt of Sterling, Stacy Rutt of Rio Rancho, NM, Craig Rutt of Canal Fulton and Susan Flinner of Wooster; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and sisters Susan Wise of Roanoke, VA and Linda Zimmerer of Wooster.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Barbara Stutz.

Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the noon service on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.  Burial of cremains will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.

Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
