DALTON For those seeking a small sense of normalcy as the school year winds down and the pandemic continues, Dalton High School is inviting the community to view the traditional grand march Saturday at the school. Residents are asked to bring their own lawn chairs as seating will not be provided because of COVID restrictions.
Dalton High School is sponsoring the traditional dinner and grand march for students on May 1 who had signed up to attend prom before April 9.
The grand march will be from 6 to 7 p.m. and the dinner will follow at Dalton High School.
The community may attend the grand march by parking at the baseball field and proceeding to the grass area on the east side of the school. Grand march viewers will have to wear masks and maintain social distancing while on school property, according to information provided by the school.
Prom attendees will enter the school drive from the North Mill street entrance and will exit their vehicles for a few moments, then proceed to drive their own vehicles to park in the parking lot of the school and enter the building for dinner which is being catered by Deb Geiser from Quince Bakery.
If there is rain, the public is invited to enter the building through doors No. 3, 5, or 8 and proceed to the main gym where the prom attendees will walk through.
