Living Water Church’s ‘Daddy Daughter Dance’ returns – in person

DGKN staff report

DALTON  Living Water Church’s annual ‘Daddy Daughter Dance’ is returning next month — in person.

The church presents its sixth annual event 7-9 p.m. May 8 at the church, 200 N Kurzen Road, Dalton.

Registration is at www.lwchurch.com/dance.

Cost is $25 per couple.

“Each year we do it as a way to raise money for the trips that our high school students take in the summer,” Jason Boyer, youth pastor, wrote in an email. “The dance is open for girls in Kindergarten through 8th grade with the option to be accompanied by any significant adult figure in their life.”

Each year the dance has a different theme.

“This year we are taking a trip down the Hollywood runway with ‘A Night Among the Stars’,” Boyer said. “The night will feature a Red Carpet Paparazzi entrance, several movie trivia games and prizes, drinks and snacks, plus a DJ’d dance party in our ballroom. While we are allowing participants to make their own choice of comfort regarding masks, we are taking steps to keep the event extremely fun from a socially responsible perspective. Our snacks and drinks will all be pre-packaged, and all of our prize winning games will be non-contact.”

Last year, the church had the dance virtually and dozens of families joined online.

“It was a very special experience and much needed during that season of struggle, but we are very excited to offer an opportunity for the community to be back together again in person,” Boyer said.
