Martin, Paul Wesley
Orrville — Paul Wesley Martin, age 87 of Orrville died Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at The Avenue at Wooster, following a period of declining health.
Wesley was born on April 27, 1934 in Dalton, Ohio to the late Phares and Magdalena (Miller) Martin and graduated from Sterling High School in 1952 and the Wooster Business College with an associate degree. He married Mary Ellen Mast on August 11, 1956 at Martins Creek Mennonite Church in Millersburg. Mary Ellen passed away on April 6, 2019.
He was owner and operator of Martin Interiors, the family business for over 50 years, retiring in 2012.
Wesley was a member of Wooster Grace Church. During his life he was involved in the Orrville Exchange Club, WCRF Board, Bible Study Fellowship, and CBMC. He was a Sunday school teacher at Wooster Grace Church and a member of their Board. Wesley enjoyed painting and wallpapering interiors and was an avid reader. He traveled to Israel and enjoyed spending time in Sarasota, Florida. Wesley was passionate about caring for others and volunteering. He loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are four daughters, Sue (Rick) Kreakie of Orrville, Jan Good of Winamac, Indiana, Barb (James) Moline of Smithville, and Kristen (Mark) Zook of Orrville; twelve grandchildren, Liz (Mike) Robinson, Nic (Cathy) Kreakie, Lara (Nathan) Speitel, Kelly (Aaron) Hines, Kevin (Alyssa) Good, Lisa (Drew) Phillips, Meredith (Gabe) Holder, David (Erin) Moline, Kyle (Tara) Zook, Joel (Jera) Zook, and Allison (Steve) Romero; twenty-two great grandchildren; his sister, Lois (Denny) Zimmerly; his brother-in law, Sandy Swartzendruber; and his sister-in-law, Ruth Ann (Jim) Oswald.
Besides his wife and parents, Wesley was preceded in death by great granddaughter, Brianna; brother, Ralph (Betty) Martin; sisters, Alice Martin, Grace Martin, Velma (Stan) Souder, and Carolyn Swartzendruber; brother-in-law, Richard (Joyce) Mast; and stepmother Marjorie Martin.
Friends may call on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Grace Church, 4599 Burbank Rd., Wooster from 3:00 pm to 4:15 pm.
Services will be held at 4:30 pm on Sunday, at Grace Church, with Pastors Bob Fetterhoff, and Nick Cleveland officiating. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
Visitors are asked to wear masks, practice social distancing, and adhere to posted signs and spacing limitations.
